Black Adder_Get It Here

Earth Hour went well tonight. Only a few minor hiccups with my effort where I nearly burnt my hair while lighting the candles and tripped over the rubbish bin (I know how to have a wild night!). I also had to cheat for a minute, as when I got back to my flat after checking out the view of the city (a couple minutes walk away) to see the lights go off, there was a large bump and I had to turn on all the lights to check everything was ok.

Earth Hour was a good idea, I hope they do it in other cities around the world. It reminded me of the extra lights and appliances that are needlessly left on, made me more mindful. It says on the website that 67,904 people committed to it, so hopefully it made them more mindful too.

I was going to load up a movie of the lights going out over the city, but I fracked it up. At 7:29, I decided to check the time on my phone, looking down for just a few seconds and missed the lights going out, and at 8:30, I was filming but a woman started chatting to me and I turned around to be polite and missed it again! So here, instead, are some pics of my candles.

By the light...

And what did I do while the lights were out? I finally did a chore I’ve been neglecting: dusted my perfume shelf. Here is a crappy picture of "dusting by candlelight". I'll try to post pics of the finished project tomorrow.

Dusting by Candlelight

And because I've stayed up ridiculously late and my willpower becomes even lower the later it gets...I ordered the following from the very surprising BPAL Milk Moon update:

MILK MOON 2007 - sweet milk, golden honey, fig fruit, pomegranate, dates, and white grape.

MONSTER BAIT: TOKYO STOMP ~ A sweet and crisp vanilla mint!

MONSTER BAIT: VENTRILOQUIST DUMMY ~ Savage apricot, depraved dry woods, and psychopathic patchouli covered by a disarmingly sweet mishmosh of caramel, brown sugar, hazelnut, and butterscotch.

MONSTER BAIT: BLOODY MARY ~ Chunky, glistening red fruits with sweet cream accord, black clotted cherry, and powdered sugar!

I couldn't resist the foodies, the creativeness behind them, and the last Monster Baits were so amazing. These though, could be absolutely awesome (Milk Moon will be milky and creamy and lightly figgy date-y, with just a hint of fruits, Dummy will be the perfect blend of earthy apricots and caramel and Mary will be mouthwatering cherry cream) or total fizzers (Milk Moon won't be milky enough, Dummy will be too sweet and Mary could be a bloody fruity mess) on my skin. I hope the Godzilla one is different enough from Lick It too. I should have waited for the decants to come up...curse my early morning willpower loss! Not that I claim to have ever had any...heh. My credit card is now cowering in the corner.

Did you see the "Dogs Playing Poker" LEs in the Salon? Beth didn't post about them ... a little April-Fool surprise. They're up till the end of April.

I'm definitely getting Tokyo Stomp but I have fear the other two Monster Baits would be sickeningly sweet on me. I will get Milk Moon though, and am debating what else!

Gah! ya, I saw the doggies, but I am pretending they don't exist, I must...for sanity...ha! and budget. I just tell myself they'll be horrible on my skin.

I'm a bit worried the other two Monsters will be overly sweet too, they certainly sound it; but I have tried some of Beth's scents that I thought would scream on me and they're much quieter than I thought...so here's hoping!

I spoke to soon :) Just ordered three doggie decants from quikslvr's decant circle:

A Bachelor's Dog, C.M. Coolidge ~ Soft musk, leather, and Brazilian cigar tobacco.

A Bold Bluff, C.M. Coolidge ~ Cherry tobacco, tonka, and hops.

New Year's Eve in Dogville, C.M. Coolidge ~ Flirty perfume, dapper cologne, and effervescent champagne.

Oh well, at least it was way cheaper than full bottles!

Yea!!! Go Sydney-siders. Earth Hour sounds like a fabbo idea, I'd love to do it here in Melbourne. You picked a prime time to dust ye olde fragrance shelf, hee hee!

Oooh I'm so jealous of your BPAL order. I'm *hoping* to get decants of Ventriloquist Dummy and Bloody Mary. Maybe Milk Moon and Poisson d'Avril...hmm...even Minotaur? Gosh, I was so naughty and just bought 2 bottles I shouldn't have...please talk some sense into me!

I cannot wait to hear what you think about the new stuff! Oh, if you're ever interested in selling decants, I'd definitely buy from you, by the by!

If you miss out on the Dummy and Mary decants, I will sell you decants from mine :), although I'm still nervous about my orders turning up, but my Groundhog was resent on Friday, so fingers crossed!

Won't burning candles also cause carbon pollution?

Heh, I did think of that when I blew them out and started hacking a bit from the smoke. I don't know an awful lot about it all, but did find this in a quick search, which I haven't read fully yet, but it looks interesting. :D
Happiness is perfume, you can't pour it on somebody else without getting a few drops on yourself.
